Wireless Access Point for the Home
Updated over a week ago

More and more consumers are purchasing access points for their homes instead of simple routers, especially if they want Wi-Fi coverage for a large home and/or property. For example, one EnGenius customer wanted to purchase access points and switches to cover his four-bedroom home and his lakehouse, which required coverage across a large backyard down to the pier.

The "wireless" aspect of these access points refers to how the AP is powered through a PoE (power-over-ethernet) switch, not a separate power cable. The benefit is that it saves on the cost of extra cabling, trenching, and installation making it very attractive to homeowners.
